401 Unauthorized

Check that:
  • x-api-key or the bearer Authorization header is present
  • the API key or OAuth token is valid for the deployment you are calling
  • proxies are not stripping custom headers

400 Bad Request

Check that:
  • required fields are present, including type for raw crawl, deep-crawl, and extraction requests
  • URLs are valid URIs
  • numeric fields such as limit or scoring weights are inside allowed ranges
  • extraction schemas are valid JSON objects

Run never reaches completed

Check that:
  • you are polling GET /api/v1/runs/{runId}
  • the run is not stuck in failed or cancelled
  • you are inspecting last_error and related fields
  • your client timeout is not shorter than the job duration you expect

Results are missing content

Not every result will have every output format. Confirm that:
  • you requested the relevant formats
  • the source page could actually produce that content format
  • the result does not contain an error_message

Search results look weak

Check that:
  • the underlying content is already indexed
  • the query is specific enough
  • ranking controls are still using sensible defaults
  • you are scoping by collection where appropriate

403 Forbidden

Check the endpoint’s required scopes, workspace membership, collection restrictions, and Connected Apps revocation status. OAuth CLI/MCP connections have search and MCP permissions, not run-management scopes. For plan-limit errors, inspect details.code and plan limits.
